Meet Dr. Pogosian

Dr. Pogosian received her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree with Highest Honors in Psychobiology from UCLA and minored in Armenian Studies. After obtaining her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, she went on to complete her residency training in Adult Psychiatry at UCLA Resnick Neuropsychiatric Institute. During her residency, she received specialized training in women’s mental health, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders.  Additionally, she served as chief resident of the Anxiety Disorders Clinic and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders Intensive Outpatient Program. She also trained in mentalization-based therapy tailored for personality disorders with the Borderline Initiative Program at UCLA. After graduating residency, she further pursued psychotherapy training at the Psychoanalytic Center of California, and received a two-year certificate of completion for the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program. 

Dr. Pogosian is fluent in Armenian and conducts sessions in both dialects.  Given her diverse background,

she holds special interest in the process of assimilation and its inherent challenges.
